WNMU Image Library

Western New Mexico University maintains a shared library of approved, brand-compliant images for use across official university websites and communications. Drawing from this vetted collection keeps the university's visual identity consistent, accurate, and accessible, and it protects the institution from copyright and brand-misrepresentation risks.

Why vetted images matter

  • Brand consistency — Vetted images follow approved colors, composition, and style, so every page reads as part of one university.
  • Accuracy and authenticity — Approved photography shows real WNMU people, places, and programs, rather than generic stock or artificially generated images that can misrepresent the institution.
  • Accessibility — Every image on an official page must carry meaningful alternative text. Starting from vetted images makes it easier to describe them accurately, supporting the accessibility requirements of Section 508 and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Licensing and copyright — Images in the library are cleared for university use, which reduces the legal risk that comes with unlicensed or third-party images.

Need an image you can't find?

If you need an image that is not in the library, contact Marketing and Communications at marketing@wnmu.edu or submit a request through the project request form on the Marketing and Communications website. Please do not publish AI-generated images or images from outside sources without approval, because doing so can compromise the university's brand, accessibility, and licensing compliance.
